WHAT’S HAPPENING AT CAPITALAND ANIMAL HOSPITAL?

NEW YORK STATE VETERINARY CARE FUND, CAPITAL DISTRICT REGION

We love our animals and want to do everything possible for them. The Veterinary Care Fund of the Capital District Region was set up to help pet owners during a financial hardship. When criteria are met, some funds may be available through your veterinarian. However, the Veterinary Care Fund relies on donations to sustain it. If you are interested in helping others with pet care needs, we encourage you to make a contribution of any size through this link:  NYSVMS Foundation-donate

For people who need help with vet bills, here is a list of other organizations that may be able to help:     Pet Owners | New York State Veterinary Medical Society .

To provide more timely scheduling for our patients that require surgical and dentistry procedures, Capitaland Animal Hospital will be closed for appointments on most Fridays so more procedures can be performed on that day.  This scheduling change begins immediately.  Please call ahead to find out if we’re open a particular Friday.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and we hope to be back to our regular schedule in the near future.

Thank you, firefighters for your compassion rescuing
people and animals alike no matter where you are.

The Los Angeles wildfires. The doctors and staff of Capitaland Animal Hospital are dedicated to the wellbeing of all animals even those suffering on the other side of the country.  Pets, farm animals and wild animals are all affected and need help during and after these terrible fires in Los Angeles. Those of us who are able have donated financially to animal care foundations working amid the devastation to help all suffering animals, and in the process allowing pet owners some peace of mind.  We encourage you to do the same.  Please visit the links below if you’re interested.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Giving Tree. People brought in blankets, toys, leashes and other sundry items requested by Mohawk Hudson Humane Society to help all the animals in the facility’s care. The dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and any other forsaken animals appreciate your kindness.

We have been using our new therapeutic laser on many surgeries and dentistries to speed up healing and decrease pain at the surgical site.  Licensed veterinary technician, Victoria, has been receiving training in its proper use and is extending this training to other specific individuals in the practice.  Soon we’ll be able to schedule laser treatment for other conditions such as osteoarthritis pain and dermatological disease.  Check back here or call our hospital, 518-986-2454, to find out when you can set up therapeutic laser treatments.
