PHOVIA: Capitaland’s Newest Treatment Modality

Supporting natural skin healing in dogs and cats

Phovia can support the natural healing process for dogs and cats with common dermatological conditions.
Capitaland Animal Hospital has trained staff who use a carefully designed LED lamp along with a proprietary gel
applied directly to damaged skin.

One session of just 2 minutes, twice weekly (or 4 minutes once weekly)
can help accelerate natural skin regeneration.

Is Phovia Safe?

Despite exerting a biological effect, the Phovia system is generally very safe for both pets and users.
As with any intervention that impacts an animal’s physiology, side effects are possible in specific cases.

Phovia is not indicated for pets with photosensitivity conditions or those receiving
photosensitizing medications or agents.

Potential side effects in these cases may include:

  • Temporary hair color change
  • Erythema (redness) that typically resolves within 6–12 hours
  • Skin hyperpigmentation
  • Transient pain at the wound site

How Does Phovia Work?

When illuminated by the Phovia LED lamp, the proprietary gel releases fluorescent light energy.
This fluorescent energy penetrates deeper layers of the skin, stimulating cell regeneration.

Light penetration varies by wavelength, with different colors reaching different skin depths and
producing distinct biological effects that support healing.

Benefits to Your Pet

  • Fewer applications of topical creams and sprays
  • Reduced reliance on antibiotics
  • Decreased healing time (sometimes by up to 50%)
  • Less time wearing an e-collar or cone

Phovia is a non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical option for improving skin healing.
Treatment is simple: the Phovia Gel is applied to the affected area, and the LED lamp is used for
several minutes.

Many pets show visible improvement in skin health after just two or three sessions,
with some healing up to 50% faster.

What’s Included in the Phovia System?

The Phovia system includes two essential components:

  • Phovia LED Lamp
  • Proprietary Phovia Gel, which converts blue LED light into fluorescent energy that fuels the skin’s natural healing process

Is Phovia Right for Your Pet?

If your pet is experiencing a dermatological condition that may benefit from enhanced healing,
schedule an appointment with Capitaland Animal Hospital to determine whether Phovia treatment is appropriate.

…and how is Mama doing now?

Although Mama’s skin disease is a chronic condition that requires continued care, the Phovia treatments have kept her skin healthy for a much longer period of time.  If her skin flares again, the Phovia treatments can be started right away to keep Mama comfortable, and her family knows they now have options to help her stay healthy.
